(KGO On the Go) – While in wine country, visit Wilson Artisan Wineries, offering nine wineries across Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley, Sonoma Valley, Mendocino County, and Anderson Valley. Each of their wineries has carved out its own niche of award-winning wines you’ll be delighted to discover.
At Wilson Winery, Mazzocco Winery, and Pezzi King Vineyards each specialize in Zinfandels from their own ultra-talented, unique winemaker. At their Bordeaux houses, deLorimier Winery, and Soda Rock Winery are quintessentially Alexander Valley, where Cabernet Sauvignon is king. At their cool-climate, Russian River Valley property, Matrix Winery, discover unique vineyard-designate Pinot Noirs. Venture south of Healdsburg into Sonoma Valley to St. Anne’s Crossing Winery featuring limited-production wines aged in Hungarian oak for a stand-out approach that will truly excite your palate. And finally, if you’re feeling adventurous, journey north to Mendocino County and Anderson Valley Jaxon Keys Winery & Distillery, Greenwood Ridge Vineyards where you will enjoy Pinot Noir, Riesling, Zinfandel and more—even Brandy at Jaxon Keys from legendary Brandymaster Hubert Germain-Robin.
Be sure to stay in the heart of wine country! Wilson Artisan Wineries offers two of Healdsburg’s historic inns–the Grape Leaf Inn and Calderwood Inn. In keeping with family tradition, Sydney Wilson, daughter of Wilson Artisan Wines owners, Ken and Diane, has worked tirelessly to make the Grape Leaf and Calderwood Inns two of Healdsburg’s finest Bed & Breakfasts. Both offer well-appointed facilities, with an array of wine country amenities that range from farm-to-form breakfasts to a one-of-a-kind speakeasy at the Grape Leaf Inn.
Founders Diane and Ken Wilson are devoted to things they value most—family and friends—and are committed to the stewardship and sustainable farming of their 600 acres of vineyards.
Diane, a native Californian, cherishes her high-energy lifestyle that includes raising children, making wine at Wilson, deLorimier and Matrix wineries, and taking an active role in the community. Ken, born and raised in Ontario, Canada, is robust and passionate about his vineyards and wineries. It was Ken’s wisdom and vision that created the diversity of vineyard sources over the years. These vineyards provide the premium quality fruit that has brought notable recognition to the Wilson Artisan Wineries. Diane and Ken are often seen at their wineries, particularly around harvest, so when you visit, keep an eye out and say hello!
