Bulletproof backpacks fly off the shelves — are they really an effective solution though?

Bulletproof backpacks are the latest student accessory to fly off the shelves in the wake of the Parkland, Florida massacre.

Distressed parents have drained Amazon’s inventory of the protective accessory in a last-ditch effort to keep their children safe in the age of mass shootings.

Host Chip Franklin and Nikki Medoro questioned the effectiveness of the bullet-deflecting backpacks, in addition to other solutions that have been proposed in the days following the Florida high school shooting that claimed 17 lives, including: arming teachers, employing police and incorporating active-shooter drills.
