With the University of Chicago making SAT and ACT test scores optional for college admissions, and some of the nation’s top Ivy League’s no longer requiring the SAT essay portion, many students are seeking advice on what path they should be taking to pursue higher education.

For this week’s edition of “Explain Like I’m Five,” host Chip Franklin asks Ed Kim of C2 Education — a top test and college-prep company — to offer his expertise on the topic. In the podcast below, Kim speaks on the relevance of the SAT and ACT, how public perception on academia has changed, selecting the right career and what parents can do help prepare their child for life after high school!

Explain Like I’m Five is presented by the Commonwealth Club, the nation’s oldest and largest public affairs forum, intent on finding truth and turning it loose in the world.
