The KGO Evening News with Peter Finch and Nikki Medoro
Peter Finch's Bay Area roots run deep. He attended Adams Junior High in Richmond, and San Francisco State University, where he majored in Broadcast Communications. He also has a Masters Degree from the University of Colorado in Journalism and Mass Communication.
Peter actually began his career as a disc jockey in high school (KXFM, Santa Maria), but soon found his calling as a news anchor and reporter working at alternative album rock radio stations (KBCO in Boulder, Colorado, and KFOG here in San Francisco). Peter is thrilled to not only be anchoring the KGO evening news, but also to be continuing his popular feature reporting with the "Finch Files" on KGO. He feels his evening anchor work and his feature reporting satisfy a need local listeners have for both the latest news, and also interesting stories that go beyond the headlines.
In his spare time Peter is also a playwright, and is involved with several local charities, especially those serving children with special needs. He lives in San Francisco with his wife Alice (a native San Franciscan!), and is very proud of his two college-aged children, Davis and Julia.

Nikki Medoro, an award-winning journalist, has covered Northern California news for more than a decade. A graduate of San Jose State, she reported and anchored the mid-afternoon news at San Jose's only locally-owned radio news station, KLIV. In 2006, she moved to Sacramento to work at KFBK radio. During her time at KFBK, she produced the award-winning series “A Voice For Our Daughters,” which gave an up close and gritty look at the sex trafficking epidemic in Sacramento. She received two Nor-Cal Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) awards for the series. She was also honored for her work on the station's coverage of the Amgen Tour of California.
Other highlights of her time in Sacramento include covering President George W. Bush's visit to Northern California and flying high in the sky with the Blue Angels. In 2011, she joined the KGO Radio news team to co-anchor the KGO Evening News with Peter Finch.
