Sacramento Sheriff Scott Jones on the technology that led to the “Golden State Killer”

Sacramento Sheriff Scott Jones joined Armstrong & Getty in-studio for an in-depth interview about the turning point that allowed he and his team to track down the “Golden State Killer,” 72-year-old Joseph DeAngelo, after decades of cold trails.

DeAngelo, who has been tied to 12 murders and at least 45 sexual assaults across Califronia, had been living in plain site, walking the very same streets he used to wreak havoc on.

In addition to speaking on the breakthrough, Jones offered a look into DeAngelo’s psyche, analyzed his potential motives and answered the question: “Why, after all these years, did you continue to search?”
