Christmas is a few weeks away, a time when a lot of people look for places to give back, whether it is food donations, gifts, money, or their time volunteering. Something that is desperately needed but often overlooked when considering donations is personal protection equipment, also known as PPE. Personal protection equipment is needed here in the Bay Area and all across the country.
The Valley Medical Center Foundation in the South Bay is asking for donations to provide PPE for their essential workers. The foundation is the official collection point for COVID-19 donations in Santa Clara County.
Valley Medical Center’s Christopher Wilder explains their PPE need to Nikki Medoro on Thursday morning. Wilder said they raised seven million dollars at the beginning of the pandemic for PPE, his goal for the holiday season is to raise half of that, 3.5 million, to help provide first responders with PPE. If you would like to donate, large or small, please visit vmcfundation.org.
