The Morning Show with Nikki Medoro: Georgia Senate Runoff Election Today

Nikki Medoro speaks with ABC’s Ines De La Cuetara about Georgia Senate runoff election today, both Trump and Biden campaign for voters.

The runoff comes days after a call between Trump and Georgia’s Republican secretary of state was leaked. President Donald Trump pressured Georgia’s Republican secretary of state to “find” enough votes to overturn Joe Biden’s win in the state’s presidential election. In the call to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, which was recorded, Trump repeatedly cites disproven claims of fraud and raises the prospect of a “criminal offense” if officials did not change the vote count. Saturday’s phone call was the latest step in an unprecedented effort by a sitting president to press a state official to reverse the outcome of a free and fair election that he lost. Trump told Raffensperger: “I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have.” Reports Jeff Amy, Darlene Superville and Jonathon Lemire.

In extraordinary hour-long call, Trump tells Georgia secretary of state “So what are we going to do here, folks? I only need 11,000 votes. Fellas, I need 11,000 votes. Give me a break.”
