San Francisco Mayor London Breed addresses concerns the city will run out of coronavirus vaccines this week.
After speculation across the Bay Area that the city was not distributing vaccines fast enough, San Francisco’s Public Health Director, Dr. Grant Colfax reassured the public, “We’re not sitting on vaccines, we’re getting them out as soon as possible. We will be ready for as many vaccines as we can get…We need the vaccine, we need it now.”
We’ve launched a vaccine data dashboard and we’re working with healthcare providers and the state to get their data.
We’re issuing a health order to move this forward, as we partner with our private providers to set up our vaccination sites. https://t.co/cE6hE6L1g8

“Our entire system in SF has received 102,825 doses. There are more than 210,000 people in Tier 1A in San Francisco, all of whom need to receive two doses. We simply need more vaccines. I’m optimistic that with the new administration, we’ll see more urgent progress.” Said Breed via Twitter.
Breed continued to explain, Tier 1A in San Francisco includes approximately 210,000 people including:
- 80,000-90,000 healthcare workers
- 11,000 in-home care workers
- 110,000 people ages 65 and older
- As well as EMTs, community healthcare workers, and others qualify in Tier 1A
The SF Mayor shared how you can find out where you are on the vaccine priority list if you live or work in SF.

Right now, vaccines remain very limited, but as we receive more from the federal and state government we’re ready to distribute 10,000 doses a day.
