City Council Theatre: Mark Thompson shares the Wild World of School Board Meetings

The Rock Hill School Board takes a vote during a meeting in Rock Hill, South Carolina, on Monday, Aug. 10, 2020. Mark Thompson covers the wild world of school board meetings.

“There is a phenomenon in American society particularly…over the top, dinner theatre performance audition of those speaking to city councils and school boards across the country. It can be called nothing less than overdramatic and still it happens day after day in council forums across this country,” explains Thompson.

Listen to Mark Thompson share stories of people losing their minds in City Council Theatre, pranking members of the Henrico School Board, an anti-masker at a Higley Unified School District meeting in Gilbert, Arizona, and a woman stating what her “baby cubs” will and will not wear to school.
