Fleet Week in San Francisco is officially underway!
The beloved event is an especially big deal because it’s the only Fleet Week nationwide in 2021. San Francisco is expecting to have more than one million visitors watch the Naval Ships Air Team fly over the Bay for the first time since 2019.
“Being the only Fleet Week for the last two years, um… a lot of excitement,” said Lt. Joe Pfaff from the US Navy. “We’re happy to be out here again. Happy to bring our Navy to you, and it’s just going to make this Fleet Week in 2021 that much more special.”
The week-long event will also feature disaster capabilities, training exercises and senior leader talks, community relations projects, band concerts, ship tours, a parade of ships, veterans art show, aviation demonstrations, and the popular K9 Heroes featuring military and civilian K-9 demonstrations in Duboce Park.
Located at Port of San Francisco – Embarcadero Pier 30/32 and Pier 35 all ship tours are free of charge. Masking is required while on all US Navy vessels.
