KGO Hosts React: FBI confirms remains found belong to Brian Laundrie

Brian Laundrie’s remains were officially found. Laundrie disappeared in September, days after his finacée Gabby Petito was reported missing. 

The FBI’s Denver office confirmed remains found in a Florida nature reserve are Laundrie’s. Dental records verified Laundrie’s indentification.

It’s now been more than five weeks since Brian Laundrie went missing after returning without his fiancee, Gabby Petito, from a cross-country trip.

The FBI confirmed investigators found what appear to be human remains, “along with personal items, such as a backpack and notebook belonging to Brian Laundrie,” who according to Michael McPherson, the specal agent in charge of the FBI’s Tampa Division, is “a person of interest in the murder of Gabby Petito.” 

“These items were found in an area that, up until recently, had been underwater. Our evidence response team is on scene using all available forensic resources to process the area,” said McPherson.
