Two Dead in Police Shooting in San Francisco

Two men are dead following a police shooting in San Francisco, according to the police department.

San Francisco police officers responded to Mariposa St and Owens St regarding an aggravated assault in progress at 7:48 pm on Thursday night. In a series of tweets, SFPD said officers arrived to the Mission Bay neighborhood and located two males in the area. During this contact, an officer-involved shooting occurred.

Officers provided aid to both males and called medics to the scene. Medics declared one man dead at the scene and brought the second man to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries, where he was pronounced dead. 

It was not immediately clear if both suspects were shot by an officer. San Francisco Police Department said they will release more information as it becomes available.
