A man was attacked by a shark while swimming in the water at Lovers Point Beach in Pacific Grove on Wednesday morning.

The attack occurred around 10:35 am. The man sustained “significant injuries from the shark bite and was transported to Natividad Hospital,” Pacific Grove Police said.

Following State Parks protocol, the beach at Lovers Point and Sea Palm turnout will remain close until Saturday, June 25, 2022. Officials will continue to monitor the area via drone during the closure.

With Americans venturing out more this summer, the Morning Show with Nikki Medoro reports on the Pacific Grove swimmer and a Southern California woman walking her dogs struck and killed by lightning.
