Alameda County Sheriff’s Deputy Suspected of Killing Married Couple in Dublin Home

An Alameda County Sheriff’s deputy has surrendered after shooting and killing husband and wife in Dublin, authorities said.

The man, 58, and the woman, 42, were found with gunshot wounds in a home on the 3100 block of Colebrook Lane in Dublin around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Ray Kelly said at a news conference.

Witnesses on the scene identified the shooter as 24-year-old Devin Williams, who is known to be a deputy at the Alameda County Sheriff’s office, according to a press release.

Williams knew the two victims, who were a couple, Kelly said. “This was not a random crime,” he said.

In reference to Kelly’s history Kelly explained, “He actually has glowing reviews…I see nothing outstanding in regards to misconduct.”

This is an ongoing story.
